There's the clearance, but the point of that specific foot is for leathers where the top is delicate or flimsy and wants feed support on both the top and bottom. I don't think it would be a very useful foot if it didn't have the motor connection.

Hi Teri, That all depends on the model and how its constructed. For example on my Dream bag I will punch, stitch and polish the front panel top edge before adding the handle because I can still open it up and have access to the inside between he exterior and lining. But on the back handle, holes can be punched first only because I am attaching the flap afterwards which covers the lining. If the construction was exactly like the front and the lining was exposed inside then I would have to attached the back handle first and then close up the lining, punch, stitch and polish. Hi David, If its lining for a dog collar I think you would want something quite durable and resistant right? I would maybe try Zermatt leather from Degermann. This is used for lining watch straps and bracelets as its very resistant to moisture and allergy.

Hi David, you’re welcome! I just saw your example on the other forum and I think the nappa will work better for that kind of lining because it’s softer. A friend of mine makes that kind of padded items and I think he uses the open cell foam you posted for padding.

Hi Danielle, I like all my bags with leather. I generally use between 0.8 to 1.2mm thickness for loose lining(not glued fully to the outer panels). Sometimes on gussets where the lining is fully glued down I’ll split it to 0.5/0.6mm it really all depends on the leathers im using and the feel I want for the bag.

Both ways are completely acceptable. that is all a matter of your preference and design idea

I have a tutorials that I'll put online in the next couple of months showing exactly how to that that. 2: I'm not sure i understand what you mean about the bottom stitch doesn't seem to grab the lining. I think nappa is really buttery and thin compared to the 4 mm bridle leather. Alran goat leather is gorgeous as a lining and a bit more sturdy as well at only 1.2 mm thickness.
