- Interior and Exterior with different thread colorsв разделе Help! How do I...·May 30, 2021Hello, I've been seeing some products where the interior of the wallet/pouch is stitched with a thread color different from the exterior (see image). How is this done? Do I stitch the interior to the zipper first, and then the whole thing to the exterior? But then won't the holes from the interior stitching get in the way of the exterior stitching? Would love some enlightenment. Thanks in advance!15212
- Bell Skiver overlapping issueв разделе Beginner's CornerFebruary 13, 2021ok guys! so yes apparently its due to the softness @gx chia i switched to some soft garment type leather during the test because its quite a waste to test on perlinger’s, no problem anymore after switching back to perlinger’s again. but what causes the thing to restore is still a myth to me because it wasnt working in the first place with perlinger’s thus the whole hoohaa.. but the few things to look out is - grinding stone - knife - tension spring, i set to 4-5 counting from the outside to inside22

- How to shape the end of the webbing when attaching it to the leather strap?в разделе Help! How do I...·May 9, 2021Hello Peter! Some of your cross-bodies have a beautiful webbing belt. I wondered if you could reveal how to shape the end of the webbing when attaching it to the leather strap holding the hardware- it's so nicely curved. Keep well!22183
- Best lighting setting for leathercrafting?в разделе Beginner's CornerJanuary 30, 2021I have two Hektar pendant lamps from IKEA with 800 lumen bulbs. I also have a large south facing window that provides most of the light in my studio. Above all that I have a large set of string lights to help fill in any dark areas. There’s also a task lamp I can move around if I need it. Not sure if that helps. Good luck.14
- Skiverв разделе Beginner's CornerNovember 10, 2021@Edgar Welch I invested some months ago in a Nippy Skimini (https://skimini.jp/en/) and I am super happy with this purchase. Depending on your leather, it does clean bevel skive and also split skive of panels (there are quite some demos on Youtube). A big plus besides the quality of this machine is its suitability for using in a flat (not occupying too much space, not being noisy for the neighbours), super easy to setup, and the great customer service. Depending of your needs, downsides could be that it is unsuitable for extremely thick or hard leathers, and the need of replacement blades. I never worked with a bell skiver, but the upgrade from hand skiving to the Skimini is substantial and it opened me the door to so much more projects.1
- Skiverв разделе Beginner's CornerMarch 24, 2021You can just get teflon tape to wrap on your existing foot and test that. its cheaper and if you feel like its something helpful and always in use then you could get the teflon foot.14

- What is the name of this construction? Gusset/pocketв разделе Help! How do I...·May 8, 2021Hello leatherworkers, I was wondering if any of you knows what this kind of gusset with the attached pocket/front is called. I know this gusset has been covered in the course but this seems like a different variation. Has anyone here ever made this construction? And would the second picture be the correct technique to attach the front part? Of course there would be a few extra steps involved with attaching the lining etc. but I’m guessing this would be the right way to attach it? Thank you all in advance. Would love to have your insight and opinion on this construction @atelierpeternitz Kind regards, Talitha Joy14258
- Sourcing micron in the USAв разделе Help! How do I...·April 11, 2022Hi in the flat pouch tutorial Peter mentioned micron for a stabilizer. Does it have another name maybe? I’ve googled it and can’t seem to find it anywhere. Maybe I’m spelling it wrong. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for any help!14193
