Hello! Rocky Mountain Leather Supply has "microfibra" in different thicknesses (and colors) and I'm pretty sure it's like what Peter is using. It gives a nice body to thin leathers.

I use granite with rounded light edges, you can find very easily with a marble worker for funeral.It will make your dimensions and polish, but just without other finishes

I see your point. I have another roller foot, a passive roller foot, that does fit my 801 machine, and it's not very useful.

You can also get a free piece of granite from places that make granite countertops. They often have scrap or extra pieces laying around.

I purchased ostrich skin from Ostritec.com which I think is very high quality. Be sure that you are ordering grade 1 skins in order to get the best quality with the least amount of blemishes.

There are other less expensive ways to attach zipper stops. The purpose built pliers are nice, but there are some other options. The important things to look for are smooth jaws...prefereably made of brass so they don't mar your stops. And if you can find pliers that have jaws that clamp parallel to one another that helps too!

Here is a picture of Nippy presser feet. The curve is only very slightly beveled, and the toe and heel are less pronounced.

Here are two of my inexpensive presser feet. The one on the right has much less of a beveled curve but still more of a beveled curve than more expensive presser feet that seem to be used often on more expensive non-Chinese machines. This presser foot does seem to be more reliable than the foot on the left, which has a steeper bevel. Both of these presser feet still need to have the toe and heel filed down just a bit, and I need to do a more proper comparison, as these two feet are of different lengths. In my orders from China, I seem to be getting more of the feet with the steep bevel, even when listing pictures show a foot that looks more similar to the foot on the right.

That roller foot is intended for a machine that has an additional attachment on the back of the machine to spin it. Here's how it hooks up, and what the machine looks like: My model is a Japanese Nippy NP1. When the machine is feeding, the back part spins along with it. This means that the roller foot is fed by a different gear than the cutting bell. When purchasing the machine though, it hooks up the two sections so that the foot pedal controls both speed and feed. I had to add a second motor to it since by default, you can't control the feed speeds. Edit: Looking at pictures online of other NP1 models, it seems like some include the back feed and others don't. I'm not sure what the difference is. I bought mine very used and rebuilt it entirely.

I'm beginning to think that the feet with the steep bevel might be intended for use with stone or steel feed rollers.

The black one looks like marble or granite, and should be easier to find than the beige one, which is a lithostone.
