- Electric creaser machine and tips to buy; Adece vs RegadEn Help! How do I...·20 December 2024Hello! Can anyone please give me an advice regarding a creasing machine and tips to buy? 🙏 I am considering Adece machine, but I'm unsure about filetuse tips. Does anyone use Adece filetuse tips? If do, are you satisfied with a quality? Can you compare it with Regad tips? As for Regad tips, I found different information on the creasing distances. For example, FN3 - is it 2,5 mm distance from the edge or 1,25 mm? I would be very grateful for any recommendation! Thank you. Best regards, Marijeta01147

- perfect thickness composition for bigger bags?En Beginner's Corner22 November 2020Hi TC, An important factor to consider in all this is if the lining is getting completely glued down or kept loose. This changes everything. Generally I do not fully glue down linings with the exception being sometimes the bottom because I want to to be stiffer or gussets in which case the lining needs to be much thinner. For exterior leather I generally use 1.8-2.4mm total with reinforcement(if needed). This all depends on your leather type as well as the effect you want from your finished bag. Then the lining I use is between 0.8-1.2. You mentioned 0.5. This is far to thin to use as a loose lining and should only be split so thin if it's going to be fully glued to the exterior. If you are making something that is fully glued then best is to test with scraps to see how the hand is once all layers are glued. P100

- Discussion about Patterns, Designs and CopyrightEn Help! How do I...24 January 2021Hi Gergo, This is quite a big topic of discussion :-) I'll try and give my viewpoint on this is a very condensed way. 1. One-to-one copying is never correct. Just changing one small detail doesn't make it ok, or make it your own design. 2. Making something in the "style of" or "similar too" is totally fine. Every brand does it. Thats because thats the current style and what people want. There is a reason that when you think of 80s fashion you think of big shoulder pads and stone washed jeans. It's because most every designer was working within those trends. It doesn't mean the were copying. When something becomes a trend every brand and designer is rushing to do their own version of it because thats is what the customer is interested in. You are right, everyone wants to design that item that is unique and instantly recognizable as their own, however even most of these instantly recognizable pieces are just variations on something that came before it but somehow got more famous and people automatically associate it with that brand and think that they were the originator. Creating something completely different and original is great and encouraged, however you will find that there isn't much of a market for those items because people are interested in similar things that they already know. That's just the was it is! As said, this is a huge topic. Where the line is drawn between copy and inspiration...people have a lot of different ideas. So i'll leave it at this for now. p60

- Problems cinching a bucket bagEn Help! How do I...10 October 2020Hi Alex, I would say the problem is the thickness and not only because it’s thick but because both those leathers are quite rigid and when glued together I can imagine it’s really stiff ! I wouldn’t scrap it, it looks nice. Maybe just make a longer strap to be worn crossbody and then it could work not needing to really cinch it together closed but the top line just laying more flat. - Course suggestionEn Help! How do I...23 April 2021Hi. I agree that it would be important to see the entire process of an average bag that Peter makes and always puts on Instagram. Especially the manufacture and assembly of linings and pockets that I believe is one of the main parts when making a bag.40
