some say a certain classic pricking irons are best prepped right after unboxing.
I have heard users sharpening their blanchard irons with sharpening stones after unboxing it. Has anyone heard of this?
unfortunately i have once received a 10tpi VB with the last prong slightly bended/nipped.. had to sharpen it to use it, but not because i knew that i had to prep the irons before using them though!
Any ideas?

I believe Vergez Blanchard makes tools for Artisan. An artisan is considered to sharpen it tools. So i guess Vergez Blanchard thinks you know how to. But their are many new manufactory that target the private market - but very professional - like KS Blade and they sharpen the tools before sending for a very nice experience. But Vergez Blanchard has very good tools if you know how to take care of them. Hopes this explains. Regards Robby
