The only real difference is that the Meise thread is much more smooth and regular. Both are linen, both have similar sizes, but Fit Au Chinois has lots of irregularities and unevenness.

I've used a regular box cutter with the blade you flip once and then dispose of once both sides have become dull. I prefer several dedicated leather knives, a Japanese cutting knife, for one, and a brass leather pen knife, for another. I've decided to give the box cutter with snap-off blades a try. What snap-off length do you use?

Hi Piera, I use most exclusively goat skin as lining. Sometimes calf and sometimes lambskin but mainly goat. I never use fabric lining with hand stitched bags. p

Good to know! When the same thing happened to me I was also using a 50 mm foot. Maybe using the 20-30 mm foot will solve the issue.
