Wow that's good idea. I always thought that the edge dye was only applicable for veg. tanned leather. Maybe I can try that later because I don't have it yet. :)

Mando.fr Most other places that sell this electric creaser/Fileteuse is very expensive. There are two types of high quality electric creasers produced in Europe. Regad and Adece.

I feel like its a compromise in quality. What the base coat does is fills in cracks and uneven levels of the layers which will give you a quicker cleaner edge, however in time it won't wear as well, will eventually crack as its just a synthetic material. The best is to sand the layers perfectly and have as thin a layer possible on the edges. This lasts longer and won't crack or peel.

Hi Peter, So you mean finishing edge without a basecoat is much durable. Then I would rather focus on improving my edge paint skill. :) I always appreciate for your kind answer. Thank you Peter!

Peter, the croc texture seem to be different. Is the a custom plated leather as well? Who does that? I didn’t see AMTAN and Heng Long having such skins

I ended up using contact cement. I figured a water-based glue wouldn't be a good idea for metal.

Try and see :) but I bet you already did I have done it with casual home glue 😀

I had the skin embossed here in switzerland with a heated plate with a crosshatch pattern :-)
