My question instead it would be about the protections (copyright) in case you find your personal unique pattern. how can you protect it if you are at the begin and of course you are not Hèrmes and you have not a lot of money to invest? Exist a way to do it? To proof that's it's your model in case of copy?

I think if the lining you use is very thin your only option would be to glue the sides instead of the entire surface

Hi James, On this style, especially if its a smaller size about could split the lining and glue it fully done, thus avoiding the problem. If you dont want to fully glued then you need your lining cut a little larger if you want to have it bent in shape. p

I couldn't justify the cost of crimping pliers for leather. My solution was to buy a Sheet Metal Hand Seamer and then clad the jaws with leather. Most Sheet Metal Hand Seamers are sprung. Don't know if that helps but you can get Sheet Metal Hand Seamers from Amazon and most hardware stores.

It depends on the thickness you want and whether you want the puffiness to stiff or soft. You can use anything from leather, to bonded leather if you want a stiffer effect or you can use foam rubber to create a puffy effect.
