I have a question about the cotton twill an cotton duck. I have heard that you shouldn’t use cotton with leather because it will break down after a while. Is this true. I really wan to use a cotton fabric for my linings because of my business name, Scotch & Cotton! : )

you can try to pass the crepe rubber .... it is great for removing small stains of dye .. pass it gently they will probably come off 😊

Here is master skiver Iwabuchi san showing how he shapes his presser feet. I have started filing a very slight flat surface to the toe and heel of my inexpensive presser feet (confirmed results still pending), but nothing to the extent that Iwabuchi san does.

Thanks, Daniel, for the wonderful explanation. I'll have to put this foot up for sale. Is there enough clearance on a Nippy NP1 to use it without a motor and spindle?

The third picture is actually a board specially designed to keep your blades sharp. It's called Hydroma HY72 by Röchling. Peter posted a photo of it as well. It's an industrial supplier in Germany and unfortunately they don't sell directly to end-customers. However, I used my employers contacts to get a quote and it's 45€ per board (60 cm by 40 cm in 2,5 cm thickness). I want to buy one, but the have a minimum order amount of 150€. So - Anyone wanna chip in? I will also post this a separate blog post. Best, Nicolas

Hello! Rocky Mountain Leather Supply has "microfibra" in different thicknesses (and colors) and I'm pretty sure it's like what Peter is using. It gives a nice body to thin leathers.

I use granite with rounded light edges, you can find very easily with a marble worker for funeral.It will make your dimensions and polish, but just without other finishes

I see your point. I have another roller foot, a passive roller foot, that does fit my 801 machine, and it's not very useful.
