- Is this real Saffiano ?In Help! How do I...31 December 2024Thanks for the clarification … should I consider it a good leather? It came from Springfield leather in the US and they say it’s from tanneries used by luxury brands. It feels like plastic on top, and I don’t want to pass it off as luxury leather if it is not! - Glueing micrfiber liningIn Help! How do I...·28 January 2021Hello everybody, I have a problem that you hopefully can solve. I have to line a sleeve with a microfiber cloth and I want it to be strongly attached to the leather. My problem is that the cloth is rather thin, so if I put glue on its backside, it penetrates straight away to the other (visible) side. I tried applying glue to the leather only and than to lay the cloth over it; it got attached but it's not a strong bonding. Any tricks or helps? A quality microfiber source would also be very appreciated. Many thanks11319
- Design Input - Chevre Colors! In Welcome! ·15 November 2020Greetings. I know this is subject to taste, but I was curious on what your opinion is on the brighter colors offered by Alran? I have a cocoa glazed alligator piece on it's way and I really like the idea of a yellow Sully interior. I'm not opposed to a few of the other bright colors also. I think they would look amazing with a foil stamp in gold but I've only used the earth colors in the past. So bright colors, yay or nay?11370

- Belts - Combining Embossed leather w/ leather backingIn Help! How do I...·26 February 2021Hey! David Myhre here. I'm new to the forum and would love some insight on making belts using embossed lamb hides or thin prints. If combing the embossed leather with a veg tan backing, would you always glue and sew them together? What would be best if you don't want the look of stitching, but the belt needs to be combined with something to make it hold up over time? If it does need to be stitched, would you saddle stitch or machine stitch a belt like this? Also is there another type of leather other than veg tan that would be preferred for the backing of a belt? Thanks so much for any help! David11224
- Zipper stopsIn Help! How do I...·12 May 2022Hi, I’m going to order some Riri zipper tape. Is it easier, or just as easy, to use a regular pair of pliers to attach the stops on a zipper? Or should I get the pliers made specifically for that purpose? $85 seems like a lot if the other will do as well. Thanks for any help!11153
