For a retourne bag you dont see the stitching so its no big deal if you dont want to use only one length of thread to sew the entire panel, but its always good practice :-)11

You can avoid uneven edges by scoring a line with you compass to make sure the stitching line is exactly the same on both panels. The other method is harder at first, but once you master stitching with the awl it makes your life much easier as you don't need to count and match up holes. P11
